High school students invited to join Pisgah's Mu Alpha Theta club must maintain a 3.0 grade point average in math and must have completed two years of college preparatory mathematics including algebra and geometry and have completed or are enrolled in a third year of college preparatory mathematics. A fee paid to the international organization is required of each member. Graduating seniors may purchase Mu Alpha Theta cords to wear as a part of their academic regalia. Many members participate in the annual Jackson County Math Tournament where Pisgah continually confirms a tradition of excellence with top placing teams and top placing individual students. Routine practice meetings and school field trips may be expected for members participating in competitions.
The club sponsors are Mrs. LaShawna Metz and Mrs. Crystal Phillips.
