•      The National English Honor Society (NEHS), under the motto, "duty goes with honor," provides opportunities for high school students excelling in English Language Arts and coursework in general.  Pisgah High School's chapter of the National English Honor Society (NEHS) was established in 2010 and averages approximately fifty members per school year.

The club is open to junior and senior membership.  Eligible students must maintain a 3.0 grade point average in all core English classes and as an overall grade point average.  Juniors must have English 9 and English 10 (two years of English classes) on their transcripts.  Once eligible students receive an invitation their junior year, they must pay a one-time fee to join.  Eligible students are encouraged to join their junior year.

The club participates in such activities as writing competitions, writing workshops, occassional meetings, and campus assistance.  The club typically elects officers and a Mr. and Miss NEHS around homecoming.

Membership may benefit students as they apply for opportunites their junior and senior years.  Graduating seniors may purchase an NEHS medal to wear at graduation and other graduate activities.

The club sponsor is Mrs. Bettina Goins.
