The Diesel Technology Program is designed for students to gain knowledge and experience related to servicing heavy equipment and medium/heavy-duty trucks. Emphasis is placed on diesel engines, electrical, HVAC, hydraulics, and preventative maintenance and light repair. All programs are NATEF accredited and students are eligible to receive ASE credentials.
It's a blend of classroom theory, shop demonstrations, and hands-on skill development that will prepare you for entry-level jobs or entry into a post-secondary program of your choice.
You will learn about:
- Electrical and Electronic Systems
- Steering and Suspension
- Air and Hydraulic ABS Brake Systems
Plus you'll learn:
- Diesel Engine Troubleshooting
- Overhaul procedures
- Tune-ups on both mechanical and electronic engines.

Training at EPCOT’s Diesel Technology program gives you a head start on a career as a technician in the trucking or equipment repair industry. You’ll receive hands-on training on school-owned trucks and heavy equipment from manufacturers such as Cummins, Detroit, Caterpillar, International, Case, Freightliner, and more.
Today’s diesel engines, commercial vehicles, and heavy-equipment systems are highly sophisticated, with advanced computer controls and electronic functions. Therefore to be successful as a diesel technician, the need for in-depth training has never been more imperative.
