The mission of the Pisgah High School Media Center is to supply adequate resources for all students and teachers, help each student excel and achieve maximum potential by creating a 21st century learning environment, fostering a love of reading, and promoting the effective use of information and communications technology.
The vision of the school library program is to empower students to be curious, passionate, and respectful lifelong learners who explore, connect, evaluate, and create using the latest information and technology to enrich their future and daily lives. Our media center offers 21st Century technology and resources which support our curriculum and accommodate the needs of the students and teachers.
Our computer stations are available for students to use the Accelerated Reader Enterprise, online library catalog, student research, Access classes, Advanced Placement classes, and dual enrollment class assignments.
Wireless internet access is available along with laptops and ipads. Students may use these to work on assignments, PowerPoint presentations, research projects, and dual enrollment classes.
Print and non-print materials in both fiction and non-fiction are offered. Our reference section consists of encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, thesaurus, maps, globes, DVDs, and videos.
Our funding for library resources and materials comes from grants, donations, and book fairs.
