I am a product of the Jackson County School District. I grew up in the Stevenson community and attended Stevenson Elementary, Stevenson Middle and North Jackson High School as a student. Once I graduated with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education in 1999, I was fortunate to get to begin my career as an educator in the same town in which I grew up. From the onset of my employment to present day, I have been fortunate to serve in multiple capacities at both Stevenson Middle School and Stevenson Elementary School. As an educator in the Stevenson community, I understand the culture and what it means to attend a rural, public school. I often find myself engaging in conversations with many of my fellow classmates about their children that are attending our school. This connection provides a pivotal advantage that other educators may or may not embrace. As an integral part of the Stevenson community, I have been blessed to serve as not only an educator, but a substitute bus driver as well. The many opportunities I have experienced while working with the students at Stevenson Elementary School, educational staff and stakeholders of the Stevenson community has been enlightening to say the least. I feel as though these opportunities have helped me grow as both an educator and as a person. I look forward to many more years of employment with the Jackson County School District and I hope that one day I will be able to step into yet another influential role within the district that allows me to nurture a school culture in a way that promotes student achievement as we seek to help all students achieve and succeed.
