MACHINE TOOL TECHNOLOGY
Awards offered: AAS, Certificate, Short Term Certificate MTT, and Short-Term Certificate Tool & Die
The Machine Tool Program offers training in programming, set-up, and use of machine tools to produce precise component parts for use in the die stamping, plastic injection molding, aerospace, commercial, medical, automotive, and military industries using both manual and computer-controlled machine tools.
Students will learn to read technical drawings and use multiple computer-aided designs (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software applications, cutting tools, measuring tools & inspection gages to produce and inspect precision component parts made from a wide array of metals and various other materials.
The MTT program provides hands-on experience using Advanced Manufacturing techniques in our state-of-the-art shop which consists of 2,3,4 & 5 axis machines and a Zeiss coordinate measurement machine (CMM).
Students trained in the MTT program are prepared to pursue careers in the following fields:
- Mold Maker/Builder
- Tool & Die Maker/Builder
- Machinist
- Programmer
- Set-Up Technician
- Operator
- Inspector/Quality Control
